Greetings, Purgolders,
Help us keep our Washington class Web site up to date.
We've put in all the updates we've gathered throughout 2005.
Please send us recent updates, names of classmates not in our database and news about you and your family.
Send to Ken Roesslein or Bob Dieringer.
A few decades ago, a group of Washington High School graduates started having
lunch monthly. Let's see. There was Tom Maher, Bernie Dowling, Kent Hromadka
and me, Ken Roesslein. Over the years, the luncheon group grew larger, adding
Tony Kreif, Bob Dieringer, Glen Schrot and Jack Zilavy. Bill Perkins even flew
up from Florida to join us at one of our monthly meetings.
Out of this association came our 25 year class reunion in Milwaukee back in
1983. Remember? What a time we had.
Now it's the 45 year reunion that has happened...
It was Saturday, September 20, 2003 - and oh, what a time we had!
One hundred Purgolders and their spouses gathered on a gorgeous summer evening
at the Mequon Country Club for an evening of renewing old high school
friendships and rekindling the spirit that makes us all - deep down in our
hearts and souls - Purgolders still.
It took a lot of planning by your reunion committee to pull off our 45-year
reunion, but it went off without a hitch and when the last light went out and
we were all headed home, we were already thinking about our 50th.
Your reunion committee is going to remain intact and we are already tossing
around ideas for the 50-year celebration.
For example, the Friday evening get-together at Mama Mia's was so successful
that we are planning future informal gatherings - perhaps making them an annual
or every other year event.
As a follow-up to the 45th Reunion about thirty of us gathered at Frame Park in Waukesha on September 19, 2004 for a 46th Year Reunion Picnic. A great time was had by all attendees.
Let's all keep the spirit alive, let's keep in touch, let's keep in touch with this page for news about Washington
High School and your classmates. Spread the word that we do have a website and
keep in touch with it for regular updates. Send us news about yourselves for
posting on the website.
What a great way to keep in touch!
For those who missed the 45th Reunion Party or the 46th Reunion Picnic, don't miss the 50th. We promise an event worth
attending.
For those who made the 45th or the 46th, how wonderful it was to see each and every one of
you. These were special events, ones we can all cherish as these golden days pass
ever so quickly.
We've all received our photo albums from the reunion. Look
them over again and again. Hey, don't we look great?
Let's all keep the flame alive and brightly burning.
Regards,
Ken Roesslein
